Albany Elementary is proud to celebrate one of its brightest and kindest students—Aralynn Hernandez, the recipient of this year’s East Utica Optimist Award. This honor recognizes students who bring positivity, warmth, and compassion into the school community, and Aralynn exemplifies all of those qualities each and every day.
Known for her uplifting outlook and the thoughtful way she treats others, Aralynn is a natural leader. Her 6th-grade classmates clearly see it too, voting her “Most Likely to Become President” in this year’s class superlatives—a lighthearted but heartfelt nod to her integrity, confidence, and dedication to doing what’s right.
In addition to her leadership and kindness, Aralynn enjoys making beaded bracelets with her close friend Maram, turning her creativity into something meaningful she can share. She is also a key member of the classroom cleaning crew, often the first to jump in and organize the team to help keep their learning environment clean, warm, and inviting for everyone.
Aralynn has many dreams for the future and is still exploring all the possibilities ahead of her. While she may not know exactly what path she wants to take just yet, one thing is certain—whatever she chooses, she will be amazing at it. Her bright spirit, strong character, and willingness to help others make her a student—and a person—worth celebrating.
